Dennis Barone is a Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. He has edited a number of works including the poetry anthologies: New Hungers for Old: One-Hundred Years of Italian-American Poetry (Star Cloud Press) and Garnet Poems: An Anthology of Connecticut Poetry Since 1776 (Wesleyan University Press). A graduate of Bard College, he received his Ph.D. in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1992 he held the Thomas Jefferson Chair, a distinguished Fulbright lecturing award, in the Netherlands, and in 1997 he received the America Award for fiction.
